It should be about practical leadership - making smart decisions about development, protecting the quality of life our families depend on, and making sure local government operates responsibly and transparently. Those are values I see reflected in the best traditions of the Democratic Party.I also believe deeply in participation. Democracy only works when citizens stay involved and hold their leaders accountable. Government should be accessible, responsive, and focused on solving real problems for real people.At the end of the day, my priorities are simple: safe communities, responsible growth, opportunity for all, and a local government that listens. That’s the direction I believe Douglas County deserves, and it’s why I’m proud to run as a Democrat.

A Desert Storm veteran who served with the U.S. Navy’s NMCB 24 Fighting Seabees - James received a number of distinguished service medals during his time in the military.A local boy, graduating with honors from the University of West Georgia, James earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1998. The following year he founded the Anagnostakis Law Group, where for more than two decades he has represented individuals, families, and local businesses while building a seasoned &amp; respected legal practice.In 2022, James began serving as an Associate Special Assistant Attorney General for Paulding County while continuing to lead his firm. Through his work in the courts and throughout West Georgia, James has spent years fighting for families, protecting children, and standing up for the citizens of Douglas County when it matters most.James and his wife have been married for 28 years and are proud parents to their son, Kai. Their family has deep roots in the community, and James believes Douglas County’s future depends on responsible leadership, strong communities, and protecting the quality of life that families here work hard to build.
